Even if you could recommend your configuration, that works
well with 80 + 132 columns, I’d love to hear from you…

Hello Fred,

Here's what things look like for me:

Screen shot 1: I've just started an xt5250 session
http://s211.photobucket.com/albums/bb127/hillb_photobucket/i5/?action=view&current=xt5250_1.jpg

Screen shot 2: I'm adjusting my font size by holding down the left Ctrl
key and the right mouse button.
http://s211.photobucket.com/albums/bb127/hillb_photobucket/i5/?action=view&current=xt5250_2.jpg

For 132 column screen I set the font size to "Small". For normal sized
screens I set the font size to "Huge".

Screen shot 3: This is what my screen looks like after I've logged in.

Screen shot 4: This is what my screen looks like when I'm looking at a
132-column screen.

I did NOT resize the window myself, that was done for me - I'm assuming
by the kconsole window itself rather than the xt5250 software. I
imagine xt5250 lets the parent kconsole (or XTerm) window know how large
it needs to be and then kconsole (or XTerm) resizes itself automagically.

Here's what my .tn5250rc file looks like for that session:

PGBRIAND {
host = xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
env.DEVNAME=PGBRIAND
env.TERM = IBM-3477-FC
+local_print_key
+uninhibited
+allow_strpccmd
}

My configuration is:
Kubuntu 8.04
KDE 3.5.10
tn5250 version 0.17.3 (from the Ubuntu repositories)
