x5250 and V5R3 ftp

Has anyone else tried to use the V5R3 IBM ftp client from x5250? We just upgraded, and I find that ftp no longer works. (I guess I could use FTPAPI to get my file, but I figured interactive would be easier for one off transfers. Or I should make my WGET work with FTP too...) 

My joblog shows:

Data sent to device SPORTER1 not valid.  Device response code 10030101.
C
Data-stream error 10030101 reported for screen I/O operation.
Error occurred during screen I/O operation.
Signal SIGABRT raised (abnormal termination).
Internal error detected in File Transfer Protocol program.
Error(s) occurred during running of QsnCrtSsn API.
OK, I've been using x5250 for so long, I forgot I had other options! FTP works just fine from xt5250.
