It sounds like you want something like the EHLLAPI which is especially common with 3270 emulators. Unfortunately, I don't think tn5250 has anything like this at the moment.


You might be able to do something with the scripting features of x3270 for now: http://x3270.bgp.nu/x3270-script.html.
