You're talking about IBM's telnet command on the iSeries, rather than
our open-source tn5250, correct?  If so, your question should be aimed at
IBM.

The only idea that I can think of is...  use a proxy.   In that case, the
proxy would do the SSL work, and you'd use the IBM client to connect to
the proxy.

I'm not certain if there are any such packages generally available for
purchase.  You might try asking about that on MIDRANGE-L.  However,
this would be a simple program for someone familiar with SSL and sockets
on the iSeries to write...  probably wouldn't take more than a few hours.

If I'm mistaken, and you are talking about our open-source tn5250 client,
then please explain your situation further.  I wrote the SSL support for
the emulator, and if there's a problem with it, I'd really like to help.
