FreeBSD defines them for F1-F12, but not F13-F24. I had already
arrived at this conclusion, but hadn't gotten around to determining
what the settings needed to be in TERMCAP

Your suggestion of using vi with Ctrl-V made this easy, so I went
ahead and set up termcap... works with the F-keys, now... I just
have to get the rest of the "special" keys straightened out, shouldnt
be a problem, I just need to do it :)

Yes, FreeBSD does this by default.

I'm familiar with the basics of vi, and I use it all the time, but
never noticed the Ctrl-V option. That helped a lot, thanks...

Yep, it is for Linux or something else -- at any rate, I can't make
it work with FreeBSD :) However, I'm on the right track, now.
thanks!
