Great.  So the image itself is the problem.

If your attempting to get an image from media, that's covered 
in the instructions that I sent you in the .pdf that I wrote.

Not sure how to progress if you obtained the image from 
another source.

Well the images are for Suse Linux Enterprise Server service pack 3.  It's
the Linux flavor that my company deploys.  Poking around I noticed that each
of the bad images are about 200 megs in size, a far cry from 700 megs.  The
images were supposedly downloaded from the Suse website and stuffed onto the
AS/400 in some way or another, perhaps via FTP.

I'll keep everyone posted as to my progress and eventual success in this
endeavor.
