Hi Peter

Though not officially supported, people, including IBMers, have got this 
running. You might want to check out the linuxppc-iseries mailing list 
<http://lists.linuxppc.org> archives, though they appear to be down at the 
moment :( Initially they got Debian running by bootstrapping from an 
existing SUSE install. One of the users on the list had done a bare bones 
install which he had got running, but was wanting to release a more 
comprehensive installer. The list often goes quite for several months, but 
I've not seen any posts since August last year. This link to Debian on 
iSeries is a bit old, but might be of use:
