I am new to java. I have a need to use java to communicate with a remote
server that hosts a MYSQL database.
There are existing Java programs that communicate with this server fine
and have been working for years.
I need to have an RPG program connect to the MYSQL database also. I
downloaded Scott Klement's JDBC4R and incorporated that into my RPG
program, and it works fine. However, this solution has a different driver
[i.e. newer] for MYSQL than the existing Java programs use. When I user
the newer driver, the RPG program works fine but the existing Java
programs do not connect, and it appears from the error message they do not
have the correct parameters for the new driver. Then, when I delete the
new driver, the old programs work again, but the new RPG program does not.
Isn't there a way to have both drivers loaded and each application uses
the one it needs?
We are on V7R3 is IBM i
I am also posting this on the RPG list since I am not sure which one it
would belong to.
Thank you,
Doug
