I wasn't the one who solved it. The contract developer responsible for our BIRT interface simply instructed me to set the BIRT logging level to "FINE," try it again, and send him what was produced. From that, he was able to get it on the second try.

But I have no idea what he did, or what was wrong, or why, before, it worked on our box, but not on the customer's.
