Actually, that's *not* all that obvious to me, because I'm not the one responsible for the code, and personally know very little about JDBC. (Likewise, I don't think any of the people who *are* responsible would have the slightest clue how to understand [much less write] an MI program.)

But I'm certainly going to see that your "obvious question" gets to the people who are in a position to do something about it.
