I'm told that we're using JTOpen 7.4, and may be bumping up to 7.6.

By way of comparison, on our own V6 box, where BIRT is working just fine, this shows up in QHST:

*SIGNON server job 150343/QUSER/QZSOSIGN processing request for user RABBIT o
User RABBIT from client 127.0.0.1 connected to job 147887/QUSER/QZDASOINIT in
Job 167620/RABBIT/QJVAEXEC started on 12/12/11 at 09:40:10 in subsystem QBASE
Job 167620/RABBIT/QJVAEXEC ended on 12/12/11 at 09:40:11; .013 seconds used; Job 167624/RABBIT/QJVAEXEC started on 12/12/11 at 09:40:11 in subsystem QBASE

The joblog for 150343/QUSER/QZSOSIGN shows:

*SIGNON server job 150343/QUSER/QZSOSIGN processing request for user
RABBIT on 12/12/11 09:40:03 in subsystem QUSRWRK in QSYS. Printer device PRT01 not found. ACGDTA for 150343/QUSER/QZSOSIGN not journaled; reason 1. Job changed successfully; however errors occurred.

The joblog for 147887/QUSER/QZDASOINIT shows:

Job 147887/QUSER/QZDASOINIT started on 12/09/11 at 00:35:28 in subsystem
QUSRWRK in QSYS. Job entered system on 12/09/11 at 00:35:28. ACGDTA for 147887/QUSER/QZDASOINIT not journaled; reason 1. Printer device PRT01 not found. Errors on CHGJOB command for job 147887/QUSER/QZDASOINIT.

The QZSOSIGN joblog on the customer box shows something similar to what it shows here:

*SIGNON server job 538513/QUSER/QZSOSIGN processing request for user
WINTOUCH on 12/12/11 11:23:08 in subsystem QUSRWRK in QSYS. Environment variable removed. ACGDTA for 538513/QUSER/QZSOSIGN not journaled; reason 1.

(the environment variable in question is "LANG"; so far as I'm aware, it's not one of ours.)
