When I packaged it all up in a Jar file, the application worked flawlessly. Thanks for your help.
Just an FYI, the reason that we didn't do that to begin with is that there are properties in a properties file that may have needed to be tweaked, and this is a remote client, so moving the Jar file to their box is a bit of a chore.

Try creating a jar file with your classes in them, which you can then
either add to the classpath or unjar on the i. This will show if you
have any transmission problems.
