Hi Pete,

I was not necessarily suggesting RichFaces. That's a component library with Ajax capabilities. Before you reach for that, I was really suggesting JSF and Facelets first. There are also other frameworks like Wicket, etc. Google is your friend, and you can do some research for the good and bad. Good luck!

Thanks Joe Sam

I'm familiar with php and asp, so the jsp idea seems familiar. Doesn't
mean it's the way to go though. I'll spend some time with RichRaces this
weekend. Thanks for the tip.

Hi Pete,

Let me make a suggestion. I believe you'll be much better off not
dealing with JSP, if for no other reason than you can start off not
mixing code with html. I know it sounds ( and initially feels ) cool,
but believe me, at some point you will have maintenance problems,
modularity problems, etc.

My own preference is JSF with Facelets ( see the Resources section of
my devWorks article "An introduction to RichFaces" at:
http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/web/library/j-richfaces/index.html for
some links ) but there are other possibilities as well. Do some
frameworks research and decide for yourself. Or, use JSP and check in a
year or two from now with your feelings about the state of your
applications...unless you have incredible discipline, of course.
