Hi
I have this java program running on AS400, when i try to run this program on i PC and put it in debug, i get ????? for Japanese data, i am using eclipse for java program development
I run this java program native on AS400, and use tool box JDBC driver along with ibatis to read data from tables
I create a java object and then call a web service as this java object as input.
When i create XML file from the java object, it has correct japanese characters, but when i check this java object in web service it has ??????? as data.

Which debugger do you use on which version of
OS/400?

WDSC 7.0 with V5R3.

Thank you.

I spent some time with IBM clarifying that the
Classic JVM in V5R3 may
go haywire when debugging with Eclipse (socket
attach) leaving a zombie
that refused to die.

I don't develop Java code on the iSeries ... I
develop it on the PC (communicating with the iSeries). Much
easier to do it that way (IMO).

Agree. I didn't like it either. But occasionally it
would be SO nice
to be able to peek inside a running JVM to see what exactly
goes on when
there is a problem :)
