Interesting. Do you have complete control over the remote end point?
I vaguely remember seeing this message but I cannot recall what I did to fix it. You can point Firefox to the server to get some debugging info about what it actually accepts. You may have to tweak the configuration some.

Oh, perhaps it could be the "we only ship 40-bit ciphers, you must download the 128-bit ciphers from Sun" issue. Depends on the version of the enginges.

FWIW: The cert the server is using was generated using a CA cert that I
had previously imported into the DCM. PLUS, the application I'm
actually trying to get working does work fine in Windows, with the CA
cert imported into the jssecacerts file (in a private JRE).

Are you still with the native provider or switched to the pure java one?
