I just came across a link to a product that claims to be pure Java and claims to be able to print PDFs without user involvement. Here it is: http://www.activetree.com/ I see their "Purchase" link doesn't tell you a price, which in my experience translates to "expensive", but maybe their price would be worth paying. And they do give you trial downloads, so you could see if it worked with your network printers first. Sorry for being unclear in my problem description. Let me just explain a few important issues that regards this case. The user is *not* an i5 user. All the user does is select a template (.rtf) and selects a dataset to be merged into the template. The template is .rtf for the users to easily edit it using their "favourite" word processor. The process of merging the data with the template is all batch (/mail-merge/), and may result in hundreds of different documents (so displaying them all is not an option). The resulting documents are to be printed on a predefined or selected network printer. If it helps that this printer is defined on the i5, so be it.
