This is a bit off topic, but it seems that a few of you are managers on this list. Seeking any experience related comments on overall project tracking. I have 10 programmers/analysts doing many projects at a time. Customer requests always come first and bump out internal projects. The list of work is always changing and being reprioritized - pretty much daily. Have found it difficult to get a good overall view of the work being done, when people should be completing tasks based on estimates etc. Have tries the Microsoft Project route, but with so many changes I almost need an assistant just to plug in the new data and manipulate it until it works. What types of software do you use? Preferably the programmers themselves can update their stuff as conditions change (with a benchmark against original estimates) and then the whole thing rolls up into one big chart or spreadsheet. Just looking for ideas to aid in visibility beyond our weekly staff meeting to "true up" everything. Thanks, Larry _______________________________________________ No banners. No pop-ups. No kidding.
