OK, it appears that Inter-Portlet Communication (IPC) is something that was, for the most part, left out of JSR168. Sure, 168 allows for application scope "session" variables, but that's only useful for portlets in the same application (WAR). So... What's the preferred method of communication between portlets in Websphere Portal using 168-compliant portlets? This is for a corporate "dash-board" style portal, not an open free-for-all yahoo style portal, so I'm not hung up about the concept that portlets should be independent entities. Click to action seems like old technology, yes? Is it broad-cast messages? Where do I find information on these?
