I think you're trying to read from System.in but you haven't assigned it to
anything.  Is there a stack trace produced anywhere?  Have you set JVM
property os400.stdin to anything?  Have you reassigned System.in?

Also, on another note, you seem to be behind in your java PTFs.  SI18545
corrects the problem with the missing errno value.
