Thanks for the response (I guess)...I'll try to be more professional in mine: Yes, I'm very well aware of that there are plenty of easy ways to do this in Java, I am J2EE engineer. I'm writing this on behalf of some folks in our OMS group which is comprised of RPG developers and the director of that group would like to keep it RPG if possible so not to introduce a learning curve in a critical point within the project. Additionally, if you invoke the Java class from your transactional RPG application by prototyping the method, you're creating a new JVM every time you invoke it, thereby decreasing your performance on a system that can ill-afford to be maxed out. -----Original Message----- From: java400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:java400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Walden H. I'm attempting to get from NY to LA w/my mule and covered-wagon, can anyone help me? Sorry, I'm not trying to be a jerk, but sometimes I wonder why anyone would even try something like this when there are perfectly good (and simple) ways to do it in Java? Just call the appropriate Java object from w/in your RPG program. Oh, and before you say "I don't know Java" I'd guess you didn't know the SOAP protocol before you started this task. RPG is great for some (many) things. But spending time trying to implement a web-service requester from w/in RPG seems to be a giant waste of time. -Walden ------------ Walden H Leverich III Tech Software (516) 627-3800 x11 WaldenL@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.TechSoftInc.com Quiquid latine dictum sit altum viditur.
