I think I might be in some deep stuff then...because the Paradox file sits on the Novell server...so, I guess I'm gonna have to find a way to log in to the server, then access the data via JDBC drivers...i bet you all envy the fun i'm about to have...hehe Shane Cessna iSeries Programmer iSeries WAS Administrator North American Lighting, Inc. Or if "connect" and "retrieve" can be interpreted as JDBC access, you would have to use a Paradox JDBC driver. Such things exist, according to this registry: http://developers.sun.com/product/jdbc/drivers PC2 -----Original Message----- From: java400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:java400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of michael@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: July 28, 2005 10:11 To: Java Programming on and around the iSeries / AS400 Subject: RE: connect to Novell server... /QNetWare will do it if you have the roght stuff installed on your iSeries, and your version of NetWare is appropriate. Check out http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries/v5r1/ic2924/index.htm?info/ifs/rzaaxmstqnetw.htm . Otherwise, an FTP server running on the NetWare server would allow you to access it from the iSeries, or do it the other way and FTP the file from NetWare to iSeries. A Remote Command server would also work. However, if you want to access the Paradox data itself, then you're enternig interesting territory. You would probably need to export the Paradox data to some format, and then bring it to the iSeries.
