I have been told that it will remain "OS/400" Frances Stewart IBM Rochester "Kendall Coolidge" <Kendall.Coolidge To @ccbai.com> "Java Programming on and around the Sent by: iSeries / AS400" java400-l-bounces <java400-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> @midrange.com cc Subject 11/19/2004 11:05 Question on i5/OS AM Please respond to Java Programming on and around the iSeries / AS400 Hello All, If anyone is running one of the new i5 servers, perhaps they could answer this for me. Occasionally we determine in our Java code whether we are running on an iSeries or on some other platform by looking at the system property "os.name" like so: if (System.getProperty("os.name").equals("OS/400")) { do something; else { do something else; } On the new i5's, will the os.name be returned as "i5/OS"?
