I don't like the Infocenter either, but I go where you have to.

Sorry, but the Infocenter has the details.  Basically:
If a 1.x JVM is installed, the latest 1.x JVM will be the default (your case
it's 1.1.8).
Otherwise (no 1.x JVM), it's the latest JVM (1.2, 1.3 etc.) installed.

If you don't want 1.1.8 as the default you can either remove it or setup the
SystemDefault.properties
