Back to the pricing issue! If you want to do this in a flexible OO way, you could use a Java based rules engine, such as DROOLs. Most of the business logic gets described as rules, which can even come from a DBMS. What ever class collaboration is responsible for setting the final price can then ensure that any "special pricing" events are fired before the final price is generated. The beauty of using Java here over RPG is that several groups have written rule engines that work with standard Java implementations. I don't think that you will find the same depth of 3rd party tools in the RPG space. _________________________________________________________________ Jeff Furgal / MIMIX User Interface Product Architect / Lakeview Technology furgalj@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx / 630-282-8360 LAKEVIEW TECHNOLOGY CONFIDENTIAL This e-mail may contain SECRET, PRIVILEGED AND/OR CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION intended only for the use of the addressee.
