Although this is the java forum and your question seeks a java response, I am 
bound to say that the easiest way by far is to use IBMs Net.data product which 
ships free with the OS.
It is not java but it is a very flexible cgi script based appplication that 
makes it easy for novices to call existing iSeries programs or commands via 
script or build complete html pages from a database simply by using standard 
SQL select statements.

   We are planning to move some part of our application to Web enabled arch.
on AS/400.
   As i am knew to this i want to know what all technological options are
available. We have planned to use Java as our 
   Front-End. 
   Does anyone have any idee where can i find any article on this.
   Any help would be highly appreciated.
