Hi Dan, I've already installed Tomcat and designed a few pages using jsp and servlets with access to db2. I'm quite a beginner and most of the pages are a copy and paste from other works with some customization. However I was interested to learn more about WS. We have the WSDT for Iseries (legal copy!!) but I wanted to practice at home because at work I can't. I saw that there are trials for WSAppServer express for Windows, WSApplDev and a lot of redbooks, but I asked here to have some suggestion in order to download and start in the easiest way and to avoid dowloading useless material. If you're looking to get into web development with java, Tomcat is an excellent choice and the price is right! http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat/index.html Also, I think the Java Development Kit (JDK) Enterprise Edition has something built in. I think it's Tomcat, actually.... If you're looking to administer Websphere, nothing beats actually owning the product. Not sure about how the trial versions work (I've never had too much success with them).
