Hi David/Joe,

Thanks a lot for the input. It does clear a few things. So the client version 
of IBM Toolbox a free download, but doesnt include the source.

I checked the download page for the Toolbox and the link for download of both 
JTOpen and the Toolbox points to the same download. Does that mean that the 
current version of JTOpen and that of the IBM Toolbox are in sych?

This is incorrect.  The servers are part of the base operating system, and
so are included automatically.  The client portion is basically just a
couple of JAR files.  The licensed product version is 5722JC1, and it is a
no-charge product.  The JTOpen version, as Mr. Gibbs points out, is also
free and includes source.  It is generally also a bit ahead of the LPP.

If you're worried about support, IBM supports JTOpen as the "fast path"
version of the LPP, as you can read at the JTOpen home page:
