I get the feeling that when a project is shared, in order to make changes to a module I'll have to check it out. But I'll play and report back later. > However once it is > added to the workspace, I do not think there are any tools to change the > project type. Ah, this I can help with. While I was writing my Eclipse book, I learned all about this particular bit of magic. It's all in the .project file. When a simple project is created, it has empty "buildSpec" and "natures" elements in the .project XML file. Also, there's no .classpath. A quick way to fix this is to create a separate empty Java project. Then, go into Resource perspective and copy the .classpath file from the Java project to the simple project. Next, bring the two .project files up in the text editor, and copy the contents of the buildSpec and natures elements from the Java project to the simple project. Save, go back into Java perspective, and you now have a Java project. It's all in the XML <grin>. Joe
