> From: Joe Pluta > > One of the things I really like about the HSQLDB product And now for an opposing viewpoint... HSQLDB does not support the JDBC2 updateable result set. This is too bad; it's the thing that first made me start to think of JDBC as a possible surrogate for DB2 in certain circumstances. The update[Type]() methods, along with insertRow() and updateRow(), gave a result set very similar capabilities to a logical file. Now, I don't know yet what the other drivers support, but the lack of this functionality is a major disappointment. Not only that, but the HSQLDB team seems not to understand the significance of this, saying only that it's not in this release, and may or may not be in a future release, they'll think about it. The fact that the JDBC team went to all the trouble to put this into JDBC2 should tell the HSQLDB team something, but evidently they have other fish to fry. Then again, I suppose I could add it <grin>. Joe
