This was added to CVS revision 1.7 and first appeared in JTOpen 2.0.1.
OS/400 v5r1 shipped with the IBM Toolbox for Java, Mod 4 which is
equivalent to JTOpen 2.0.

If I were you, I'd go to
https://www6.software.ibm.com/dl/as400exp/expastbjm3-p and download the
latest version of JTOpen which is 3.1. This will have the current
version and includes the getSystem() call.

If you have any questions about the relationship between JTOpen and the
IBM Toolbox for Java, they should be explained at
http://www-1.ibm.com/servers/eserver/iseries/toolbox/faq.htm#faqDifferen
ce. If you still have questions, you can ask here or on the JTOpen
forum which is accessible from their home page at
http://www-124.ibm.com/developerworks/oss/jt400/

HTH,
Gary

Not directly ... but you if you declare the JDBC connection an
AS400JDBCConnection, you can retrieve an AS400 object from it (using
getSystem()) ... you can then use that object to perform data area
manipulations and command calls.
