Dieter & Bruce, In a lot of environments, Tomcat can be run standalone without Apache because Tomcat has its own built-in HTTP server. The standalone installation is not provided by IBM, but Midrange Server has an article that describes the process of configuring and running Tomcat on the iSeries as a standalone server. In my experience, standalone Tomcat has been secure, fast, stable, easy to configure, and scaleable. The article is at: http://www.midrangeserver.com/mpo/mpo021402-story02.html David Morris >>> Dieter.Bender@t-online.de 06/07/02 09:50AM >>> Bruce, I didn't run it in parallel on the same box. For Tomcat you must configer the HTTP server powered by apache and there you must configure the URL Map for the redirect to the Tomcat Server; you can configer it in or out process as you want to do. In my opinion it must be possible to rung WebSphere and Tomcat; maybe you would need two instances of the Apache to do so. Take the redbook I mentioned before and have a try. Dieter
