Do you have WebSphere Development Tools installed on your PC?

Then the preferred way to debug programs running on the iSeries is
STRDBG,
right?  A brief description of how to use STRDBG against Java classes
or a
pointer to some specific information would be very helpful to those of
us
whose primary focus is not the AS/400.
