Are there any issues running Java programs in the startup list after an IPL?

I have a Java program that runs fine when I start it from command line, but
when I have it in the startup list, after IPL, it will not start.  I don't
see any messages about why it won't start, and I have included the MONMSG
line.
Is there something  I am missing?  Where else can I look to figure this out?
