Thanks, Don,
The getUserId() method could be called for a AS400 object. But in my case,
I have the code like this:
String URL = "jdbc:as400://mysystem/databaseXYZ";
Class.forName("com.ibm.as400.access.AS400JDBCDriver");
con = DriverManager.getConnection(URL);
How do I get the AS400 object here. The AS400 sign on screen was invoked at
the line of code: con = DriverManager.getConnection(URL); After this line
was executed, con has an implicit object as400_ which contains the userId I
just signed on.
So I assume that I should have something like this after con =
DriverManager.getConnection(URL);
String user = aAS400.getUserID();
How could I get this implicit aAS400 object from con? If I create a AS400
object as: AS400 aAS400 = new AS400(); that would not be the same object
(as400_) after the connection.
Any suggestions?
Wayne

The AS400 (connection) object has a .getUserID()
method that returns a String.
URL = "jdbc:as400://mysystem/database" +
myAS400.getUserID();
Hope this helps,
