We are trying to install WAS 3.5.3. Is there any good advice before we even start? Any contact numbers for big help from IBM. Thanks -----Original Message----- From: Eyers, Daniel [mailto:daniel.eyers@honeywell.com] Sent: Friday, June 15, 2001 9:44 AM To: 'JAVA400-L@midrange.com' Subject: Websphere 3.5 Installation Well, we just finished our install of WAS 3.5.3, and I have to say, I'm pretty impressed with the capabilities of WAS. The IBM support team was very good helping us through our issues (we missed a prereq) and got us the PTFs and things we needed in a timely and efficent manner. I didn't think I would like the admin console but I have found it to be a great way to manage the running of the site; this is functionality I have *not* seen with Tomcat. The differences between WAS 3.5.3 v. 2.0.3.1 is night and day; I encourage anyone who is using any older version of WAS to take advantage of the upgrade. My congratulations to the WAS team... Now, if only we could get IBM to market it. My great fear for WAS is that it'll be like the AS/400; a great product with no marketing support.
