CD /HOME/YOURUSERID
I hope here /HOME is an IFS Directory under the Root of Integrated File Systems (If you open Ops Nav) and USERID is your USERID by which you ftp.
Your class is in C:\jdk121\bin\Proj1.class
CD \ jdk121\bin
ftp as400
userid
password
bin
cd /home
put proj1.class
quit
I use windows FTP Pro a tool which is very easy to use for PC and IFS or AS/400.Another best website from where I learned is from www.zappie.net a great place to start
Best Regards
Rizwan

Subject: Re: How Java is used in AS/400
Larry,
This is great tip, thanks a lot. But I need more help ( sorry! ).
I have a little problem with the FTP. I followed the script you sent me but
somehow I got lost.
what I did is:
I signed-on to the AS/400 ( AS/400 name is DEAS400A )
I type-in FTP DEAS400A
gave me a prompt to Log-in : I logged in as QSYSOPR then I supply the
password
now at this point I'm not sure what PATH or Directory to put ( in your ex.
CD /HOME/YOURUSERID)
Does this mean that I need to create a directory in AS/400 and use that
directory as the receiving directory for my .class file.
Let's say that my class file is in C:\jdk121\bin\Proj1.class from my
Desktop and I use my Desktop to TELNET to the AS/400
can you show me how to FTP this?
your help is greatly appreciated..
Jesus
