It is not unusual to see these messages depending on what you are doing in
WebSphere. They are a result of the administrative server's enterprise
JavaBeans having an isolation level of TX_SERIALIZABLE which maps to *RR
commit level on the 400. When the the admin EJBs execute SQL SELECT
statements and then execute an UPDATE these messages result in the QSQSRVR
joblog. They are informational only, not a sign of a problem.

Subject: WAS starting msgs.

Hi all,

Monitoring what happens when an application server starts, I noted that
both
DEFAULT_SE (standard application server running examples) and IWAWEBACCE
(the alpha Web Access release) cause hundreds (may vary, but reach several
per second) of info msg SQL0595 <Commit level *RR escalated to *EXCL lock>
be written to an QSQSRVR job log until the start process complete.

Last monitoring revealed that to-day, as far as DEFAULT_SE the msgs were
issued continuously from 07:23:35 to 07:32:10, for IWAWEBACCE (manually
started later) from 10:06:14 to 10:16:21.

Is it normal or should I open a call to the ECS line to investigate for
some
remediations?

Best regards.
