Put your servlet in the path that WebSphere designates as the re-load directory.
WebSphere will detect a changed class file in certain directories and reload the
servlet. I found it in one of the books and have used it before. I know that on 
my
machine it is the \QIBM\ProdData\IBMWebAs\servlets directory. I don't
remember if I set this up or it was the default. Also try going into the admin 
page,
unloading the servlet and then reloading it.
