Hello,

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? I am reading a record and
retrieving a field(it is a packed decimal field 5,0)

BigDecimal Course = (BigDecimal)keyedRecord.getField("RRCRS#"); // this
works OK

I then want to use the above value to get a record from a file that has a
packed decimal field 5,0 as its key. 

key3[0] = (Object) new BigDecimal(keyedRecord.getField("RRCRS#")); 

VA java tells me that 

"The constructor invoked to create jav.math.BigDecimal with
arguments[java.lang.Object] is not defined."
I thought it had to be defined for the first statement to work.
