Appropriately enough, the String class has a method called:
compareTo(String str). Have you tried this? I think this is the nature of
your question but if I'm way off base then please disregard.
If I *am* on the right track then a statement such as:
if (returnCode.compareTo("E") {
...
}
might be what you looking for. Best of luck.
