We are beginning to see a lot more of these errors than we used to.

My program is used on the packing line in our factory (on a Linux
box running Blackdown 117B_V3). When they send a skid to the warehouse,
I write the data to an AS/400 by adding a member to a temporary file
and then copying the temporary file to a lib where some canned software
picks it up and sends it to another AS/400 (the warehouse system).

This all works nicely until the copy, which lately has been giving some
"Connection was dropped unexpectedly" messages. As far as I can tell
(although I don't have all my debugging code in place yet), this
happens during a CommandCall.run(String) method call, which does a
"CPYF FROMFILE...". We are running V4R2 with CUM C9292420. We saw it
quite a bit more often when using the program here in the warehouse
during inventory, where it ran on the local network as opposed to over
a 56K leased line.

What causes this? Is there anything to do about it besides catching
ConnectionDroppedException and offering the operator a retry?
