Boy, I wish I did. I used to have a pretty good book I had read when I was
learning Smalltalk, but I can't recall the title now.

However, you have really already made the necessary progress. I know
exactly how you feel, and you are right. You will bring bad habits across.
Or, I should say, bad OO habits (they might be very good procedural
habits).

I read some good advice from several sources. Basically, once you have the
syntax and concepts down, go ahead and plan out and do a small project.
Not a big one, because when you get done you will have learned some things
you will want to put into use in the future. 

I am sure you will get a number of good reading suggestions, but I don't
think anything will be quite as useful to you as a little immersion.
