I picked up a copy of Symantec's Visual Cafe about 6 months ago, and have been experimenting with it. The documentation is horrendous. I just about have it figured out though, so I got a copy of Visual Age for Java at Common for $24.00. It uses JDK version 1.1. VC was using 1.0.2, so now I'm scratching and clawing again. The event model has changed a LOT. There's a pretty decent tutorial and CD course that comes with VA, and SAMS has a "Java Unleased" book that is pretty good, although you need to get your feet wet a little before it helps a lot. The API documentation can be found at http://www.ibm.com/java/education/mapuccino/jdk1.1.1/docs/api/packages.h ml.
