Planning information for upgrading to release 7.0.1 is available from the Upgrade Central page: Title: Upgrade Central: Planning your upgrade to Lotus Notes/Domino 7.0.1 Link: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=463&uid=swg21229858 Information about the ~689 fixes contained in the 7.0.1 maintenance release can be found in the Notes/Domino fix list: http://www.lotus.com/ldd/r5fixlist.nsf/Public?OpenView Incremental installers for migrating from release 7.0 to release 7.0.1 are available on the developer Works site: Domino: http://www14.software.ibm.com/webapp/download/search.jsp?q=Domino+Server+7.0&k=&dt=SOFTWARE+UPDATE&sb=r&rs=ESD-DMNTSRVR Notes: http://www14.software.ibm.com/webapp/download/search.jsp?q=Notes+Client+7.0&k=&dt=SOFTWARE+UPDATE&sb=r&rs=ESD-DMNTSRVR Which release to use? In early January, you were notified of the availability of maintenance release 6.5.5. Last week, you were notified of the availability of fix pack 3 (FP3) for Lotus Domino 6.5.4. And in this mail you're notified of the availability of maintenance release 7.0.1. So which should you adopt? We always encourage migration to the latest release, so 7.0.1 is what you should plan for. However, we also recognize that such a migration takes more planning and time to accomplish than simply applying a fix pack. For that reason, if you are already using release 6.5.4, we highly recommend you apply fix pack 3 as soon as possible, and consider a migration to 7.0.1 when your schedule and priorities permit. If you are already using release 6.5.5, we recommend planning a migration to 7.0.1 or higher when your schedule and priorities permit. If you are using an older release (6.5.3 or earlier), we recommend migrating to 7.0.1 as well, but if your current schedule and priorities don't allow that, you can also reap benefit from simply upgrading to 6.5.4 FP3 or 6.5.5 with all the fixes they contain. Choosing between the two is a matter of timing. Release 6.5.5 currently has the most fixes of the two, but 6.5.4 FP3 has a few fixes that are newer than 6.5.5. If you are already using 6.5.4 FP3, we recommend waiting for 6.5.5 FP1 before moving to 6.5.5.
