This is all familiar to me also, but it occurs intermittently. I don't see it every time... Mgt Central and iSeries Navigator are obviously still 'works in progress'. Every time I've tried to do anything with it, I've been unable to connect. Checking the iSeries' WRKACTJOB, I can see that the task is running and NETSTAT showed that it was listening. But I couldn't connect unless I end the server and restart it. I have noticed that I get a message that it is ended before it actually ends, so restarting it immediately is generally futile (error stating that I can't start it, it's already started). However, once it is open, I can't get the monitors to start - they all just go to a failed state.
