I've never had problems editing that template. Can you open agents on the mail6.ntf template? If that works, then compare the ACLs and check your effective access. If all else fails, you may be able to open Admin client and go into Full Access Administration and try opening the template. This is just a possible workaround. If you can't find ACL issues you may want to call support when you have time. Hopefully Full Access would let you get past this temporarily.
