Tom, With only 1 CPU you will have to try UPDATE_SUPRESSION_TIME= value in minutes which will batch up the update requests and make the job more efficient. Also, generally speaking any database index set to update immediately will be queued for indexing whenever there is a change to the database. You may want to use Update_Suppression_Time to limit those duplicate requests. Update_Suppression_Limit overrides the NOTES.INI Update_Suppression_Time setting if a certain number of duplicate requests to update indexes and views are received. (Duplicate requests are a waste of clock cycles.) We have also changed may views on large databases to update hourly or daily. (Chronos job run on a scheduled basis). Update looks to be on average only consuming 3.8% CPU, it is probably safe to try another.
