You probably meant that tongue-in-cheek but I don't like to think that negative. 1 - Many people who start to feel that way end up only putting on new versions of OS/400 and/or Domino when they just HAVE to because of hardware or other limitations. 1a - Thus more work gets moved off of the iSeries because it is 'obsolete'. 1b - Workarounds are then used instead of features that are now in the latest version. 2 - I've seen numerous people who are only allowed to IPL their iSeries on an infrequent basis, yet they like to stay one cume behind. 2a - Thus they've got problems that were resolved with the latest cume. Now they have to wait for the next scheduled downtime to resolve it. 3 - In general, people tend to shy away from people with a negative attitude.
