Roaming user profiles. That creates a image of the pab on server.

PAB Backup question

Newbie type question here. R6.5.1 on V5R2.

Most of our Notes users have a PAB (personal address book) on their pc.
Last week, we had a pc lose a drive and that user lost their PAB. The
question posed to me is 'why isn't the personal address book stored on the

server (with their mail, calendar, to-do etc....)? I've often wondered why

the PAB isn't part of the mail file.

Anyway, my thought is to replicate each user's PAB to the server -
however...

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but isn't the domino directory residing on
the server also named names.nsf? And if anyone were to replicate their
names.nsf wouldn't this corrupt the domino directory?

Anyone have any input to offer or solutions to share, or links to shed
more light on the subject? I've done considerable searching on the net and

haven't much addressing this issue. My goal, ideally, is to have all user
pab's backed up on the domino server with the least amount of user
intervention.

Regards, Jerry
