With the roaming users, their login is determined by their network login, I believe. So the only people accessing their account (and ID file) would be those with their network password. At least, that's my recollection -- we're not actively using it here yet. All of my users are using iNotes templates. I just found out about synchronizing the address book too and I can do that in 5.0.11 and 6.5.1. This at least gives immediate backup capability which is my highest priority at the moment. I did test recovering a synchronized PAB too by deleting my PAB, creating a new one from a template and then synchronizing. All my PAB data was there but the probems I did encounter (but haven't spent a lot of time researching) is that when I restarted notes, by mail was set to default to my local replica, and all my location documents were gone. I also lost all my admin capabilities too, even after switching id files. (I even deleted my cache file too.) Once I deleted and restored my orginal PAB all was well and back to normal. I may test doing this again, but this time setting the ACL on the new pab BEFORE doing the synchronize. I also am just beginning to learn about roaming profiles too as this may assist a few of the power users. I'm ready to set this up for myself and my only question is whether I should include my .id file in my PAB. Does doing so eliminate my need to have an .id file on any remote pc? And from a security standpoint wouldn't I want to require the user to provide an .id file provided to them on a diskette or other portable media?
